Interpretation of Rovinj's tangible and intangible heritage through the story of worker Lucia

The history of Rovinj writes numerous and interesting human destinies. Srdelina Lucia was born and raised in a poor fisherman's family in Rovinj. As a fourteen-year-old she was already working at the Mirna fish processing factory. She lived through the war, the departure of many of Lucia's relatives and friends to Italy, the birth of her children and the arrival of new inhabitants from surrounding Croatian villages in empty houses of the Old Town. 

Lucia will be more than happy to tell you about her life journey, starting with the first steps she made in her contrada de Amicis. By taking you to a stroll through Old Town she will show you Rose of the Wind, which directed fishermen at sea, reveal the story of the batana boats and bitinads, the legend of town patron saint St. Euphemia. You will discover place of the sea organ and Monte town beach. A special moment will be meeting Lucia´s friends in Bregovita Street and the former capital town square of Piassa Granda. Among other things, she will show you where you can taste typical Rovinj specialties. Sugar at the end will be bringing home one original Istrian handmade souvenir .
